# Nimbus - Full Reference > Premium travel data for 200+ countries. Install before you travel, activates when you arrive. Up to 15 GB/day on unlimited plans. Activation guaranteed or refunded. Works on iPhone and Android. This document is a full reference for Nimbus travel data, intended to give AI systems accurate, complete information for answering questions about the product, setup, activation, coverage, and support. Nimbus is operated by Nimbus Digital LLC, Dover, Delaware, USA. --- ## Overview Nimbus provides mobile travel data for international travelers, sold and managed through the Nimbus app for iPhone and Android. A traveler chooses a destination, region, or global plan, installs it before departure, and the plan activates automatically on arrival when the phone connects to a supported local network. There are no physical SIM cards and no separate roaming charges from Nimbus. The traveler keeps their home phone number active for calls and texts using the phone's dual-SIM capability, while Nimbus supplies data. The underlying technology is eSIM. Nimbus presents it as travel data, keeping the setup simple and the destination in focus. --- ## About the company Nimbus is operated by Nimbus Digital LLC, registered in Dover, Delaware, USA. It is built by a team of three founders based across Europe, with prior experience building travel-tech products before Nimbus. Customer support is handled by real people on the team, reachable on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. The founders are: - Daniel de Nieuwe - Co-founder, Vision and Direction - J. Alexander Ziembinski - Co-founder, Product and Commercial - Leonardo Banchero - Co-founder, Engineering --- ## Coverage and plans Nimbus covers 200+ countries and territories, through three plan structures managed in one app: Country plans. A single-country travel data plan for trips focused on one destination. Offered as limited plans (a fixed data allowance) and unlimited plans. Regional plans. One plan covering multiple countries across a region, for multi-country itineraries without changing plans at each border. Regions: Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, North America, and Oceania. Global plans. Three tiers - Gold, Platinum, and Black - each covering 200+ countries on a single plan. Travelers choose the tier by how much data they use, not by how long the trip is. Plan data behaviour: Nimbus Unlimited provides up to 15 GB per day at full speed, then the connection pauses until the 24-hour reset (full speed or off, no throttling). Available in 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 30-day plans. Unlimited Lite provides 3 GB per day at full speed, then continues at 1 Mbps until reset; available on regional plans (Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin America) and select country plans. Limited plans give a fixed amount of data from 1 GB to 50 GB, with validity from 1 to 180 days. --- ## Knowledge base ### Main Pages **Will my phone work with Nimbus?** Most likely yes. iPhone 12 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S22 and newer, Pixel 6 and newer, and most recent flagship Androids all support eSIM. The one thing to check: your phone needs to be carrier-unlocked. See our Supported Devices page for the full list. **When does my plan start?** When you arrive. Not when you buy. Plans start counting once your phone connects to a network at your destination, so you can buy ahead of your trip without losing time. Install at home on Wi-Fi, fly, land, switch your data line to Nimbus. Plans auto-activate after 30 days if you haven't used them. **Can I still use my regular phone number?** Yes. Your home SIM stays active for calls and messages on your usual number. Nimbus runs alongside it as a separate data line - use Nimbus for internet, your home line for everything else. Both work at the same time on dual-SIM phones. **What happens if it doesn't work?** If your eSIM doesn't connect, we refund. Real people on WhatsApp during your trip - European team, not a generic call center. Most issues turn out to be a Data Roaming toggle or a network selection setting and take 30 seconds to fix. **Where can I use my Nimbus eSIM?** Over 200 countries. Buy a single-country plan for one destination, a regional plan if you're hopping borders, or a global plan if you're covering multiple regions on one trip. Coverage and networks vary by country - check the destination page for details. ### Before you travel: setup, compatibility, and choosing a plan **What is an eSIM?** For a full explainer, see our What is eSIM page. Short version: an eSIM is a SIM card built into your phone. No plastic, nothing to swap. Your regular SIM stays where it is - the eSIM sits alongside it, so you keep your home number for calls and messages while Nimbus handles your data abroad. Install before you travel. Activate on arrival. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Compatibility: Will my phone work with Nimbus?** Most phones from the last few years support eSIM. Quick checks: iPhone - iPhone 12 and newer all support eSIM. iPhone 14 onward sold in the US are eSIM-only (no physical SIM tray). The new iPhone Air is eSIM-only worldwide. Samsung Galaxy - Galaxy S22 and newer, plus Z Flip and Z Fold series (3rd gen onward), plus select A-series (A35/A36/A55/A56) and XCover7 / XCover7 Pro. Google Pixel - Pixel 6 and newer. Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL sold in the US are eSIM-only. Other Android - Many recent flagships from Motorola (Razr, Edge), Xiaomi (13/14/15 series), OnePlus (11/12/13), Oppo (Find X/N), Honor (Magic, 200 series), Sony Xperia (1/5/10 series), and Huawei (P40/Mate 40 onward) support eSIM. Check your phone's settings under Mobile network or SIM manager for an "Add eSIM" option. Quick check that works on any phone: dial *#06#. If your phone shows an EID number, it usually supports eSIM. For the complete list, see our Supported Devices page. One thing that catches people out: your phone must be carrier-unlocked. Phones bought on a US carrier contract or financed through some European operators are often locked, which means a Nimbus eSIM won't activate. Your carrier can unlock it - usually free, sometimes with a wait. A few regional notes: Phones sold in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or South Korea may have eSIM disabled even if the global model usually supports it. iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max are eSIM-only in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, and several Middle East countries. Elsewhere they still have a physical SIM slot. Quickest way to know for sure: open Nimbus, pick your destination, and try to install the plan on Wi-Fi. If your phone turns out not to support eSIM, we'll refund. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Buying a plan: How do I buy a Nimbus eSIM?** Three steps: Open the Nimbus app. If you don't have it yet, download from the App Store or Google Play. Tap your destination. Search by country, region, or pick "Global" if you're hitting multiple regions in one trip. We'll show you the available plans, with the network coverage and any country-specific notes. Pick a plan and pay. Card payments via Stripe, with local payment methods and bank options where available in your region. Apple Pay and Google Pay too. Confirmation lands in the app and your email within seconds. That's the whole purchase. Installation is separate - see How to install your eSIM. Things worth knowing before you tap Buy: The validity clock doesn't start at purchase. Most plans only start counting once your phone connects to a network in your destination, so buying early doesn't waste days. One exception: if you don't activate within 30 days of purchase, the plan activates automatically. For trips more than 30 days out, hold off on buying until closer to the date. Check the plan's coverage list for the country you're going to. Some regional plans cover 30+ countries, some local plans cover just one. Prices show in your chosen currency - USD, EUR, GBP, PLN, or JPY. New users are asked to pick on first launch; you can change it anytime in Settings. If you have a code from us or a creator we work with, there's a field for it on the checkout page. Tap Add code, paste, done. Codes are case-insensitive. One purchase = one eSIM = one phone. The eSIM gets locked to whichever device you install it on. If your destination isn't listed, message us - we may be able to source coverage we don't yet show publicly. We're a small team and we genuinely want to hear from you: what we should add, what's working, what isn't. The product gets better when you tell us. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Currency: Choosing your currency** Nimbus shows prices in your chosen currency. We support USD, EUR, GBP, PLN, and JPY. If you're a new user, the app asks you to pick on first launch - before your first purchase. If you're already a user, you can change it anytime: Settings → Currency. A few things worth knowing: Currency choice affects how prices display. The actual charge to your card is processed in that currency by Stripe. Your bank may apply a foreign-exchange fee if the currency you choose differs from your card's home currency. Pick the one that matches your card to avoid that. You can switch currencies between purchases, but not mid-purchase. If you change your mind at checkout, back out and update Settings first. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Install: How to install your eSIM** Install before you travel. Activate on arrival. That's the sequence. After you buy, your eSIM appears in the app with an Activate button. Tap it, and you'll see two tabs depending on your phone: iPhone: Direct activation and QR code Android: Manual activation and QR code Use whichever tab works for you. Direct activation (iPhone) and manual activation (Android) install the eSIM straight from the app - no scanning needed. The QR code tab is the fallback if direct/manual install doesn't work, or if you want to install on a different device. To install: Connect to Wi-Fi (home, airport, hotel, café - any stable connection). Open the Nimbus app and tap your purchased plan. Tap Activate and pick the tab that fits your phone. Follow the prompts. Label the eSIM something you'll recognize ("Japan trip" works). Leave Data Roaming ON for the Nimbus line. This isn't roaming in the expensive sense - it's how your phone tells the eSIM to use the local network when you arrive. Until you land, don't switch your data line over to Nimbus. Keep using your home network. The plan only starts counting once your phone connects to a network in your destination country. Why install before you travel: airport Wi-Fi can be slow, hotel Wi-Fi can be patchy, and the moment you actually want connectivity is the moment everything feels harder. Installing at home, on your couch, takes the friction out. You can install after you arrive if you have stable Wi-Fi - but it's the harder path. A backup worth knowing about: in the QR code tab, there's an option to email the QR code to yourself. We'd recommend tapping that as soon as you buy - even if you plan to install in advance. If anything goes wrong (phone reset, accidental delete, no app access on arrival), you've got the QR in your inbox as a fallback. Manual install with the SM-DP+ details from that email also works, in case you can't scan from a screen. Important: Don't delete the eSIM after installing, before contacting us. Most Nimbus eSIMs are single-use - once removed, they can't be reinstalled, and we'll need to issue a fresh code. One more thing before you install. The moment you install, the eSIM gets locked to that specific phone's hardware (the eUICC chip inside it). It can't be moved to another phone afterward. One eSIM per device. So if you're switching devices before your trip, install on the phone you'll actually travel with - not the one you have today. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Plan activation: When does my plan start?** When you arrive - typically when your phone connects to a network at your destination. You can buy and install whenever it's convenient (at home before you travel, or on Wi-Fi after you arrive). The validity clock starts at activation, not at purchase or install. One rule worth knowing: plans auto-activate 30 days after purchase if you haven't used them. So if you buy a plan and then your trip gets pushed back by two months, the plan will activate on day 30 - not when you finally arrive. For trips more than 30 days out, hold off on buying until you're closer to the date. Plans tagged "activates on install" in the app are the exception to all of this. We flag those clearly. For those, only install once you're ready to start using them. A note on language: installation means the Nimbus profile is on your phone. Activation means the plan has started, and your phone has connected to a network in your destination. If the app shows the plan as "activating" while you're still at home, that's normal - it'll connect once you arrive. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Choosing a plan: Limited or Unlimited?** Limited plans give you a fixed amount of data - anywhere from 1GB to 50GB. Once you've used it, your connection stops. You can top up or buy a new plan. Validity ranges from 1 day to 180 days depending on the plan. Best if you mostly use Wi-Fi and just need data for maps, messages, and the occasional call. Unlimited plans give you data every day with a daily allowance that resets every 24 hours. Two tiers: Nimbus Unlimited - up to 15GB per day at full speed. Once you hit 15GB, the connection cuts until the next 24-hour reset. No throttling, no slow browsing - full speed or off. Available in 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 30-day plans. The 1, 3, and 5-day options don't exist anywhere else on the market - built for short trips where you want unlimited without committing to a full week. Unlimited Lite - 3GB per day at full speed. After 3GB, the connection continues at 1Mbps until the reset - slower, but still usable for messaging and basic browsing. Available on regional plans (Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin America) and select country plans. Daily allowances and exact behavior can vary by country and plan. The plan details in the app show what applies to the country you're buying for. If you stream, hotspot, work, or video-call from the road, go Nimbus Unlimited. If you're a light user on a regional trip, Unlimited Lite is fine. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Discount codes: Using a code at checkout** If you've been given a code - from us directly, from a creator we work with, from a travel agency or booking site that partners with us, or as part of our early-adopter offer - there's a field for it on the checkout page. Tap Add code above the payment summary, paste the code, and it'll apply to your order. Codes are case-insensitive, so nimbus15 and NIMBUS15 both work. A few things to know: One code per order. Codes apply to the plan total, not to top-ups on plans you've already bought. If a code doesn't apply, it's usually because it's expired, region-specific, or already been used on your account. We don't run public discounts. If you didn't get a code from us or someone we work with directly, there isn't one to find. Run a travel agency or OTA? If you'd like to offer Nimbus plans to your clients, see our For Travel Agencies & OTAs page. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. ### While you're there: using your eSIM on the road **Arrival: What to do when you arrive** If you installed before your trip: Wheels down. Phone off airplane mode. Three taps: Open Settings → Cellular (or SIMs / Mobile network on Android). Set your Nimbus line as the Data line. Make sure Data Roaming is on for the Nimbus line. Wait 30 seconds. You'll see a network name appear - that's a local carrier, not Nimbus, and that's correct. Open a website to confirm you're online. If you didn't install yet: Connect to airport, hotel, or café Wi-Fi first - you'll need it to open the app and run the install. Open the Nimbus app and tap your purchased plan. Tap Activate, pick the tab that fits your phone (Direct activation on iPhone, Manual activation on Android), and follow the prompts. Once installation is done, go to Settings, set Nimbus as your data line, and make sure Data Roaming is on. Disconnect from Wi-Fi and test that you're online. Either way, keep your home line for calls and texts. Use Nimbus for everything else. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **What should I do if my eSIM isn't working?** Start with the basics. Make sure your Nimbus eSIM is turned on, selected for mobile data, and that Data Roaming is enabled. If you have both your regular SIM and Nimbus active, double-check that your phone is actually using Nimbus for data and not your home line. Next, restart your phone and wait a couple of minutes. In many cases, the connection starts working after a fresh restart or after briefly turning Airplane Mode on for 10-15 seconds and then off again. If your phone shows signal but you still have no internet, try turning off Automatic network selection and choosing the local supported network manually. Some plans may also require an APN. If your plan needs one, it will be shown in your setup details. If the APN field is empty or incorrect, adding the right APN can often solve the issue. If you installed your eSIM before travel, that is usually completely normal. Many Nimbus plans only begin working once your phone connects to a supported local network at your destination. This means a plan can be installed in advance but still appear inactive until arrival. If your phone says the eSIM cannot be activated, the code is invalid, or asks you to contact the carrier, it may mean the installation did not complete correctly the first time, the eSIM was removed and is being reinstalled, or the setup flow was interrupted. In that case, it is best to contact support before trying too many times again. To help us troubleshoot quickly, please send: * your phone model * the country you are currently in * the ICCID of your eSIM * screenshots of the error message, your APN settings, your roaming settings, and the selected network Most issues are caused by one of a few things: the wrong line being used for data, roaming being off, the phone attaching to the wrong network, or a missing setup detail such as APN. If the issue continues after these checks, contact Nimbus Support and we will help you further. If the eSIM still cannot be used properly, we will make it right. **Dual SIM: Switching between your home line and Nimbus** You don't have to choose. Both lines stay active. Calls and SMS - keep on your home line so people can reach you on your usual number. Data - switch to Nimbus to keep your data usage off your home carrier. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Nimbus. Leave the default voice line as your home line. Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Mobile data → Nimbus. Google Pixel / other Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → pick Nimbus → set as Mobile data. You can change this anytime. Nothing breaks. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer **Calls and messaging: WhatsApp, iMessage, and your home line** iMessage and WhatsApp - work normally. They use data, and your data is Nimbus. FaceTime - same, works over data. Regular phone calls and SMS - use your home line. Nimbus is data-only, like most travel eSIMs. If you need to make local calls in your destination, use WhatsApp, FaceTime, or any VoIP app. They run over your Nimbus data - no separate call charges, just the data they use. Heads up on home-carrier roaming charges. Even when Nimbus is your data line, your home line is still registered to local networks for calls and SMS. Receiving an SMS or a call abroad on your home number can trigger roaming charges from your home carrier. If you want zero risk of those, set your home line to "no data, no roaming" in your phone's settings, and tell people to reach you on WhatsApp. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Data balance: Checking your data balance** Open the Nimbus app and tap your active plan. The remaining data and days are at the top. Balances refresh every few minutes - if you've just used a lot of data, give it a moment to catch up. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Slow speed: Why does my speed feel slow?** A few things to know: Travel eSIMs use local networks as a guest. Speed depends on which network your phone picked and how busy it is. In most countries, that's 4G/LTE or 5G. In rural areas, it might drop to 3G. On Nimbus Unlimited plans, once you cross the 15GB daily allowance, the connection stops until the next 24-hour reset. No throttling, no slow browsing - it's full speed or off. On Unlimited Lite plans, once you cross the 3GB daily allowance, the connection throttles to 1Mbps until the reset. Slower, but still usable for messaging and basic browsing. On limited plans, once your data is used up, the connection stops. You'll need to top up or buy a new plan. Hotel Wi-Fi is often slower than mobile data. If your eSIM feels slow, try turning Wi-Fi off and using only mobile data for a few minutes. A quick fix that resolves most slowness: airplane mode on for 10 seconds, then off. Forces your phone to find a fresh network. Still slow? Try manual network selection. Your phone may have picked a weaker partner. See Network selection under Troubleshooting. If speeds are still bad after that, message us. We can check whether your phone has connected to the strongest available network. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Crossing borders with a regional travel eSIM plan | Nimbus** If you bought a regional plan (Europe, Asia, Latin America) or a global plan, your eSIM keeps working as you cross borders within its coverage. No reinstallation, no top-up. When you cross into a new country, your phone may take a minute or two to find the new local network. If it doesn't connect within five minutes, toggle airplane mode on and off. If you're heading somewhere outside your plan's coverage, just buy a new local plan in the app before you cross. You'll have two plans installed and can switch between them in Settings. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. ### Travel eSIM troubleshooting - fix connection issues **Travel eSIM stuck on activating - how to fix | Nimbus** Body: Most "stuck activating" cases come down to one of four things: data line selection, Data Roaming, network selection, or you haven't landed yet. Walk through these in order. Don't delete the eSIM - that's a last resort, and most Nimbus eSIMs can't be reinstalled. Step 1 - Make sure Nimbus is set as your data line. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Nimbus Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Mobile Data → Nimbus Pixel / other Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Nimbus → Mobile data Step 2 - Turn Data Roaming ON for the Nimbus line. Step 3 - Toggle airplane mode for 10 seconds, then off. Wait one to two minutes for the network to reconnect. Step 4 - Restart the phone if step 3 didn't work. Step 5 - Try manual network selection. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [Nimbus line] → Network Selection → turn Automatic off → pick a network Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Network operators → uncheck Select automatically → pick a network Wait one to two minutes after each selection before testing. Step 6 - On iPhone, turn off Limit IP Address Tracking for the Nimbus line. Settings → Cellular → tap your Nimbus line → toggle Limit IP Address Tracking off. This setting can stop data from working on travel eSIMs even when activation otherwise looks fine. Step 7 - Check APN settings. Open your plan details in the Nimbus app. If a specific APN is listed there, copy it into your phone's eSIM APN field exactly. Leave username and password blank unless we tell you otherwise. Most plans don't need this - only do it if steps 5 and 6 didn't work. Still showing "inactive" in the Nimbus app after all that? That's usually a known status delay between the carrier and our system - your eSIM is actually working, the dashboard is just behind. Open a website. If you're online, you're good. If you've worked through all seven steps and there's still no connection, message us with: your destination country, your phone model, and screenshots of your Cellular settings, the data line selection, the Data Roaming toggle, and the network currently selected. We'll get on it. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **No service: "No service" or "Searching…" after install** Walk through these in order. Don't delete the eSIM. Restart your phone. Not a fob-off - this often resolves "no service" cases on a freshly installed eSIM. Check your eSIM is the active data line. Settings → Cellular (iOS) or SIM manager (Android). Check Data Roaming is on for the Nimbus line. Without this, the eSIM can't connect to a foreign network. Set network selection to Automatic. If it's set manually to a network that's out of range, you'll see "Searching…" forever. If Automatic still fails, try manual selection. Pick a network from the list and wait one to two minutes. If that one fails, try the next. Still nothing after all five? Your phone may be carrier-locked, or you may be in a coverage gap. Message us - we'll check our end and refund the unused plan if it's on us. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **No internet: I have signal but no internet** Signal bars don't mean data. The phone can show full bars because it's registered to a tower, but still fail to get a data session if the network, roaming setting, or APN is wrong. Try in this order: Toggle airplane mode for 10 seconds. Make sure Nimbus is set as your data line and Data Roaming is on. Restart the phone. On iPhone, turn off Limit IP Address Tracking for the Nimbus line. This setting routes traffic through Apple's privacy relay, which some local carriers reject - and you end up with full signal but no data. Settings → Cellular → tap your Nimbus line → toggle Limit IP Address Tracking off. (On iOS 18 or earlier with a single line, the option lives under Cellular Data Options.) The setting is per-line, so make sure you're turning it off on the Nimbus line specifically, not your home line. Try manual network selection. Switch off Automatic, pick a different network from the list, wait one to two minutes, test again. Sometimes the phone picks a partner that has signal but doesn't accept your eSIM. Check APN settings. Open your plan details in the Nimbus app - if a specific APN is listed, copy it into your phone exactly. Leave username and password blank unless told otherwise. Most plans don't need this; only do it if steps 1-5 didn't work. If you're still bar-but-no-bytes after that, it's almost always a carrier registration issue on the local network. Message us with your country, phone model, and a screenshot of the network currently selected, and we'll re-provision the line on our side. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **QR code issues: QR won't scan or "code is no longer valid"** Two common causes: The code has already been used. Nimbus QR codes are single-use. Once installed, they can't be installed again - even on the same phone after deleting the eSIM. This is why we tell you not to delete it. If you've already deleted it, message us and we'll issue a fresh code. The code is from your screen, not a printed page. Some phones can't scan a QR code from another screen. Use manual install instead - most Nimbus plans include manual install details (SM-DP+ address and activation code) right next to the QR. Copy and paste those into your phone's eSIM setup. If you don't see manual details on your plan, message us and we'll send them. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Missing eSIM: I can't find my eSIM after installing** Open Settings → Cellular (iOS) or SIM manager (Android). It'll be there, often labeled with a generic name like "Personal" or the carrier's name - not "Nimbus." Tap it and rename it to something memorable ("Japan", "Europe trip"). The next time you install one, you'll know which is which. If it's genuinely not there, restart your phone. iOS occasionally needs one reboot before a freshly installed eSIM appears. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Network selection: Connected to the wrong network** Your phone picks the network - Nimbus doesn't. Sometimes it picks one with weak signal when a stronger partner is available, or one that has signal but doesn't accept data sessions for your eSIM. Force a different choice: iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [Nimbus line] → Network Selection → turn Automatic off, wait 30 seconds, pick a network from the list. Wait one to two minutes before testing data. Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Network operators → uncheck Select automatically, pick from the list. Wait one to two minutes. If the first network doesn't work, switch back to the list and try the next. If none work, switch back to Automatic and restart the phone. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Travel eSIM hotspot not working - fix on iPhone or Android | Nimbus** Most Nimbus plans support hotspot. A few things to check: Hotspot is enabled on your phone - Settings → Personal Hotspot (iOS) or Settings → Connections → Mobile Hotspot (Android). Nimbus is your data line. Hotspot uses whichever line is set for mobile data. Data Roaming is on for the Nimbus line. You're inside your plan's daily allowance. On Nimbus Unlimited, hotspot stops working at 15GB until the daily reset. On Unlimited Lite, hotspot continues at 1Mbps after 3GB. If your plan supports hotspot and steps 1-3 are right and you're still under your cap, message us - we'll check the line on our side. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Transfer: Can I transfer my Nimbus eSIM to another phone?** No. Once a Nimbus eSIM is installed on a phone, it stays on that phone. This isn't a Nimbus restriction - it's how travel eSIMs work in general. The eSIM profile is locked to your device's hardware (the eUICC chip) at the moment of installation, and removing it from one phone doesn't free it up to install on another. Two scenarios people usually mean when they ask: You're switching to a new phone before your trip and haven't installed the eSIM yet. No problem - install it on the new phone. Your purchase is tied to your Nimbus account, not a specific device. You've already installed the eSIM on phone A and now want to use phone B. The original eSIM is locked to phone A. Message us with your order number and what happened - depending on whether any data has been used, we can usually issue a fresh eSIM for phone B. If you're traveling and your phone breaks or gets stolen, message us first. Don't try to delete the eSIM from a backup or cloud - that won't transfer it, and it may make recovery harder on our end. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Carrier lock: My phone is carrier-locked. Now what?** A carrier-locked phone won't accept a Nimbus eSIM - or any other carrier's eSIM. This is set by whoever sold you the phone (usually a US carrier, sometimes a European operator with a contract). To unlock it: In the US - contact your carrier. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile all unlock phones once the device is paid off and the account is in good standing. It's free. In Europe - contact the operator you bought it through. Some unlock automatically after the contract ends; others charge a small fee. If you're already abroad, an unlock request can take 24-72 hours. Use Wi-Fi until it's done. If you bought a Nimbus plan and discover your phone is locked, message us - we'll refund the unused plan. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131. Real people answer. **Refunds: What we'll cover** If your Nimbus eSIM didn't connect, we'll refund. Message us with your order number, the country, and what went wrong. We may ask for a couple of screenshots - the eSIM in your settings, the data line selection, and the network currently selected - so we can confirm what happened on our side. Once we've checked, we'll process the refund as quickly as we can - typically within a couple of business days. We can't refund: Plans you've already used. Plans where the wrong country was purchased after activation. Cases where the issue turned out to be your phone, after the plan had been used. Edge cases happen. Message us anyway - we'd rather sort it out than have you frustrated. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp at +1 310 303 4131.
