## How it works

1. Choose a destination or region in the Nimbus app, or pick a global tier.
2. Buy and install the plan before travel. Installation takes a few minutes on an eSIM-compatible phone.
3. On arrival, the plan activates automatically when the phone connects to a supported local network. Data works immediately, for maps, rides, messaging, bookings, and calls over internet.

A traveler keeps their home number active for calls and texts while using Nimbus data, using the phone's dual-SIM capability.

## Activation and guarantee

Plans activate when the device first connects to a supported network at the destination, not at the moment of purchase, so a plan can be installed well in advance without the clock starting. Nimbus guarantees activation or refunds the plan. This guarantee covers activation, which is within Nimbus's control; the quality of the local mobile network in a given location is provided by local carriers.

## Compatibility

- Carrier-locked phones may not accept a travel eSIM; travelers are advised to confirm their device is unlocked.
