Carrier lock: My phone is carrier-locked. Now what?
A carrier-locked phone won't accept a Nimbus eSIM - or any other carrier's eSIM. This is set by whoever sold you the phone (usually a US carrier, sometimes a European operator with a contract).
To unlock it:
In the US - contact your carrier. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile all unlock phones once the device is paid off and the account is in good standing. It's free.
In Europe - contact the operator you bought it through. Some unlock automatically after the contract ends; others charge a small fee.
If you're already abroad, an unlock request can take 24-72 hours. Use Wi-Fi until it's done.
If you bought a Nimbus plan and discover your phone is locked, message us - we'll refund the unused plan.
