No internet: I have signal but no internet

Seeing LTE, 4G, 5G or full signal bars doesn't necessarily mean your phone has a working data connection. Your eSIM may be registered to a local network while the data session itself isn't connecting.

Try these steps in order:

1. Check that Nimbus is your data line

Make sure your Nimbus eSIM is turned on and selected for Mobile Data / Cellular Data. Note that it may appear under a different name - often "Cellular", "Personal", or the local carrier's name rather than "Nimbus".

If you have another SIM or eSIM enabled, temporarily turn it off while troubleshooting. On iPhone, also turn Allow Cellular Data Switching off.

2. Turn Data Roaming on

Open your Nimbus eSIM settings and make sure Data Roaming is enabled.

3. On iPhone, turn off Limit IP Address Tracking for the Nimbus line

Settings → Cellular → tap your Nimbus line → toggle Limit IP Address Tracking off. This setting routes traffic through Apple's privacy relay, which some carriers reject - and you end up with full signal but no data. The setting is per-line, so make sure you're turning it off on the Nimbus line specifically, not your home line.

4. Check your APN

Open your plan details in the Nimbus app and find the APN listed for your eSIM.

Enter it exactly as shown, using lowercase and no spaces. Unless your plan says otherwise, leave username, password, proxy and the other fields blank.

If the APN was configured automatically and your plan doesn't specify one, you don't need to change it.

5. Try the supported networks manually

Go to Network Selection and turn Automatic off.

Check the networks listed in your Nimbus plan details and try the supported networks one at a time. After selecting one, wait 1-2 minutes before testing your connection.

Sometimes your phone can register with one local network while another supported network provides a working data connection.

6. Switch from 5G to 4G/LTE

If you're using 5G or 5G Auto, temporarily select 4G/LTE and test again.

In some locations, a different network mode can provide a more stable roaming connection.

7. Refresh your connection

Turn Wi-Fi off so you can properly test mobile data.

Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off and wait a couple of minutes.

If there's still no internet, restart your phone.

8. Still nothing? Reset Network Settings

As a final device-side step, you can reset your phone's Network Settings and reconnect.

Be aware that this can remove saved Wi-Fi networks/passwords, VPN configurations and APN settings, so you'll need to enter them again afterwards. This is a later troubleshooting step, not something to try immediately.
